Inspired through public and private turning groups, this craft began for me around 2019. I haven't looked back. What began as turning pens and small bowls, turned into statement vases, hollow forms and vessels.
BB-62 Battleship New Jersey Historic Teakwood Deck Executive Pen
Own a Piece of History!
USS New Jersey BB-62 recently went through a 5 year restoration process. During which the entire teakwood deck, most of which was original to the 1939 build, was saved from the landfill when a Marine Veteran and woodworker stepped in. He is friends with the current CEO of BB-62's upkeep and they generated a Certificate of Authenticity.
I managed to acquire a limited amount to make executive pens and darts.
