Sean's professional Art training began in 1987, however, he has been practicing various forms of Art since the age of 4.

Though Sean’s main career is not in the Art industry, he has never lost his love for Art. As he and his wife near retirement, he has already begun what will be the next stage of his life. Art full-time.

ARTIST STATEMENT

As an aspiring Artist for over 45 years, I consistently strive to challenge myself beyond my comfort zone within the mediums I use. Woodworking/Power Carving, Photography and Slab Built Ceramics are what I create with most. I’ve grown very fond of asymmetrical lines and forms, circles and spheres.

Like most Artists, a very important aspect of my work is its provenance. I’m especially drawn to Industrial Revolution machinery and engineering, as well as global history. These factors heavily influence my bodies of work.

The wood I acquire for most of my pieces are locally fallen trees. I also keep a keen eye out for estate sales and barn clean outs. I have been very lucky to acquire pieces that are rich in history, having direct ties to major events and/or structures that helped shape American history.
